Pang Juan Surveys the Battlefield龐涓觀陣
Priceless jade and treasure lie hidden in the stone,
yet you search for them in distant places.
It is like holding a lamp while looking for fire;
better to gather yourself than tire your heart.
English rendering: our editorial version.
What you are seeking may already be near. Stop searching outward and look at what you already hold.
Pang Juan Surveys the Battlefield
Pang Juan, jealous of his fellow student Sun Bin, had him crippled. Sun Bin escaped to Qi. In pursuit, Pang Juan saw the enemy's cooking fires dwindle each day and believed their army was deserting; he rushed into an ambush at Maling and died there. He looked far and missed what was in front of him.
The right person may already be beside you. Stop comparing with others.
Your current role has more potential than you think. Develop what you already have.
This lot invites care with money: look inward: existing clients, savings and skills. Outside ventures disappoint. Treat money moves as personal judgement, not a prediction.
Rest at home rather than chasing remedies. This is reflection, not a diagnosis.
Tidy and settle the home; avoid moving hastily.
Those away have not gone far. A trip of your own brings little; stay close.
In the old place, or caught in a gap or crack.
You have reason but little leverage. Settle rather than fight. A qualified adviser beats any oracle for binding matters.
